Spectrum Sprint | Philadelphia 76ers

To celebrate their 2024-25 City Edition uniform—an homage to the legendary Philadelphia Spectrum—the 76ers partnered with their largest partner, Crypto.com, to launch a 8-bit Web3 gaming experience. For the first time, ‘80s arcade nostalgia fused with Web3 gaming in an NBA uniform unveiling, creating an interactive platform that engaged basketball fans and gamers alike while honoring a defining era of 76ers history.

This was one of those "stuck in traffic on Kelly Drive" ideas that just clicked. I pitched the concept internally and externally to Crypto.com, then led the campaign from concept to execution. I developed the season-long marketing strategy in partnership with our social, digital, and PR teams, art directed the external agency responsible for game development, managed an internal graphic designer, and designed key promotional materials. I also wrote all proposals and legal outlines for the NBA and internal legal counsel, planned and coordinated season-long pop-ups and events, and handled copywriting across all deliverables. Throughout the process, I collaborated across departments to align priorities and maximize the campaign’s impact across the organization.

Buckets on Broad | Launch Mini-Game

This 8-bit Web3 mini-game sets the stage for Spectrum Sprint, letting players sharpen their 3-point shot in a fast-paced, arcade-style game. Sink as many threes as possible before time runs out, and land the final shot with the special Spectrum Ball to unlock a power-up that boosts scores and shakes up the leaderboard.

As part of the Buckets on Broad activation, fans collected seven digital collectibles, each unlocking an arcade ticket and a chance to win exciting prizes. Five winners received VIP tickets to a 76ers game, a signed Joel Embiid Spectrum basketball, and the chance to play in the on-court Crypto.com Spectrum Sprint mini-game during a City Edition game.

Spectrum Sprint | Long Form Game

Spectrum Sprint is a fast-paced, 8-bit Web3 game that puts fans in the action, racing through 1980s Philly to reach the Spectrum before tip-off. Dash, jump, and dodge down Broad Street, collecting power-ups, coins, and blockchain-integrated badges while weaving through city obstacles. With leaderboard rankings and customizable 8-bit gear, every run is a shot at arcade glory.

Fans can also unlock Spectrum Sprint digital collectibles in a four tier system— each containing three unique collectibles. In total, 12 are up for grabs, with every tier earning an arcade ticket and a shot at major prizes. The higher the score, the bigger the haul, with up to four arcade tickets on the line. Plus, the top three players on the Spectrum Sprint leaderboard were recognized three times during the 2024-25 season.

Spectrum Sprint: After Dark | Level Update

Spectrum Sprint takes a twist in the all-new After Dark level! As the sun sets over Philly, Broad Street glows with neon lights, vintage streetlamps, and the Spectrum’s iconic badge guiding the way. But with the cover of night comes new challenges—dodge late-night food trucks, flickering arcade signs, and unexpected surprises as you sprint through the city’s after-hours energy.

There are four new After Dark collectibles, bringing the total to 16 digital collectibles across Spectrum Sprint. Each tier unlocked earns an arcade ticket and a shot at major prizes. The higher you score, the more collectibles you snag.

Spectrum Showdown | Final Mini-Game

Spectrum Showdown is your final test before hitting the legendary Spectrum court. The Ref stands in your way, and the only way past him is to win a high-stakes three-point contest. As the Ref pulls out every trick in the book, you’ll need speed, precision, and a hot hand to come out on top. Inspired by Buckets on Broad and Spectrum Sprint, this mini-game puts you under the Spectrum’s bright lights, where every shot brings you closer to turning ‘garbage into gold’.

There are four exclusive Spectrum Showdown digital collectibles—earn them all by defeating the Ref! Unlock and claim them to become eligible for prizes. The top three players on the Spectrum Showdown leaderboard by April 30th will take home a prize pack worthy of a star player.

Marc Zumoff x Kate Scott Launch

To kick off the first installment of our Web3 video game series, Buckets on Broad, we brought together iconic 76ers voices Marc Zumoff and Kate Scott to bridge the franchise’s past and present. The video direction embraced the spirit of the game—cheesy, 8-bit, and unapologetically ‘80s, with a playful nod to both infomercials and retro newscasts.

I wrote the script for the long-form launch video and a variety of paid social ads, directed the shoot, and curated Kate’s vintage wardrobe to fully commit to the era. The video helped set the campaign’s tone—balancing nostalgia and novelty while introducing fans to our first-ever Web3 gaming experience.
